The Quebec Association for Chronic Pain (AQDC) aims to help Quebecers suffering from chronic pain. To do this, it has set up a help line (1-855-368-5387) which allows you to talk. The association also organizes support groups in several cities in Quebec. You can check the location and schedules by visiting the AQDC page. Please note that during COVID these support groups are in the form of video conferencing. As a caregiver, you can also contact L’appui at 1-855-852-7784.

The National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS), based on the conclusions of the Agency for the Evaluation of Technologies and Methods of Intervention in Health (AETMIS), emphasizes that the services offered to Quebec patients with chronic pain are fragmented, and wait times are long at all levels of the health care system. The few multidisciplinary pain clinics (CMD) in Quebec do not have enough resources to provide care in accordance with evidence-based intervention methods. Recent actions by the Canadian government with the Canadian Pain Task Force, however, offer hope for future improvement.
